CBS management later reported that the overzealous segment producer who made the decision to run the piece has been fired.
The network however forgot to apologize for newsman Dan Rather's shameless 'reporting' of alleged misdeeds by President Bush in 1968, based on obviously fake, recently manufactured documents, allegedly showing that Mr. Bush did not serve honorably in the Texas National Guard. Furthermore, the network also forgot to fire the producer responsible for the 'error'.
